Angle grinders in the morning

It's just after 09:00 on a Sunday. Workmen are using at least two angle grinders in a hole at the junction of Brackley St and Golden Lane, accompanied by a poorly silenced compressor and pneumatic drills. I called the city (0207 606 3030) and was told the workmen have permission to do this ... for the next three weeks.

The work is probably related to the installation of the CHP (combined heat and power) supply for The Denizen.  Clearly it is more convenient for Taylor Wimpey to have this disruptive work happen while they are away from the site enjoying a quiet Sunday at home.

Surely a more reasonable compromise would have been to have this work on Saturday mornings, so Taylor Wimpey have their work restricted a bit while residents are subjected to extra noisy works.  With this compromise Taylor Wimpey still get to enjoy a quiet Sunday at home and so do residents of the Barbican.
