Flood Waters of Lake Jonson

The drains on Ben Jonson Highwalk are not coping with the current rainfall, and so once more we have Lake Jonson:
Lake Jonson
The only way to cross from Ben Jonson House to the rest of the known world is to walk up the stripey steps (lower right of the photo) and then close beside the yellow shed.

Looks like our O needs fixing.  The O above the H:

Big damage to a small wall

A low wall just to the east of the yellow shed has sustained some serious damage.  The BEO are aware of this and have already cleaned the area up and put the fallen bricks aside so they can be put back in place.

It's looking a bit sad at the moment:

LFS withdrawal, as reported on their blog

The LFS announced their withdrawal from the move to the Barbican on their blog on the 31st July.  You can see the article here with an archive here.  In part the article reads:

London 31 July 2015: The London Film announced today that it has withdrawn from its deal with the City of London Corporation to re-locate to the Barbican Centre in 2017. The LFS had secured a lease to convert Exhibition Hall 1 on Golden Lane/ Beech Street.
The proposed relocation was publicly announced in September 2013 with the lease signed in January 2015. LFS CEO Jane Roscoe said, “We are incredibly disappointed not to be able to move forward with this project. The challenges of converting a 1960’s Exhibition Hall into a contemporary film school, in the current environment, have made the original £12M budget unrealistic.

LFS cancels Barbican move?

Screen Daily reports that the LFS have pulled out of their move to the Barbican.  "...a shortfall in private investment and the tough economic climate has led to the move being cancelled."

Planning permission has been granted for the exhibition hall 1 site, and this permission is valid for 3 years, so if the LFS do find funding perhaps they can still go ahead after all.  And if not the LFS then who, what & when?

An article on the BBC news website suggests that the Museum of London (MOL) will be moving to Smithfield, leaving their current site vacant.  Will the current MOL site become the site of Sir Simon Rattle's new concert hall?
