The recent update letter from the BEO included links to the newly updated information for those wishing to carry out home improvements.

West End Pong - Garchey

Our house officer tells us that the recent smell around staircase 61 was caused by an overflowing Garchey pit which was dealt with on the same day by Metwin our on site contractors. 

There are Garchey pits all over the estate and unfortunately, all it takes is for someone to place a plastic bag, baby wipes or some other unsuitable item into the Garchey and this causes the blockage. 

According to Mr Iffland, Garchey Manager, the smell was quite bad, so apologies for this. Also, sometimes when the garchey tanker emptying the pits, (the garchey tanker parks in garchey bay in the Beech St tunnel), it can cause smells to rise up onto the podium.
